Meet the Founder

Hello and welcome to Mommy Friend, founded by Denize Verduzco in 2016.

While pregnant with her oldest daughter, Emma, Denize received a prophetic word: “You are about to birth something powerful.”  Though she would soon give birth naturally, she sensed the word pointed to something far greater—something God was forming beyond motherhood alone.

As a teenager, Denize endured a life-altering trauma that resulted in pregnancy. At just 15, without guidance or support, she was faced with the devastating option of abortion. In the years that followed, she navigated relationships that were harmful and dangerous—situations that could have easily led to serious consequences. Through these trials, Denize reached a crossroads that ultimately brought her back to her first love: Jesus Christ.

Nearly a decade later, Denize met Miguel “Mike” Verduzco, the man who would become her husband. From the beginning, she was clear about her faith and intentions: “I’m going back to church, and I’m going to do things right. You can either come with me or not, but this is what I’m doing.”  Mike chose to follow God alongside her. After encountering Him personally, he proposed, and within three weeks, they were married.

Together, they dreamed of building a family, even in the face of challenges that seemed impossible. Denize and Mike committed themselves fully to prayer and trust in God’s plan. During this season, a prophet visiting from South Africa prayed over them and declared that God’s promises would stand. They would have children according to His timing.

True to that promise, Denize and Mike welcomed Emma Haven, followed by Amalia Trinity and Raziela Lani, and finally their fourth child, Elias Ezekiel—a testament to God’s faithfulness.

Her experiences shaped a mission that would guide the rest of her life. Though Denize serves in many areas throughout the Antelope Valley community, when asked who she is, her answer remains simple: “I am a wife and a mother.” In a culture that often questions or diminishes these roles, she boldly embraces them as a God-given calling.

Through this calling, Denize developed a deep passion for strengthening families. With her training as a paralegal, she supports ministry operations at her church—Greater Works Christian Church in Lancaster, California—and local community initiatives. She also serves on boards including In the Vine Dating, Antelope Valley Republican Assembly (AVRA), and Care Net.

After her family, Denize’s greatest work is Mommy Friend.

What began as a blog grew from a need she recognized while stepping into full-time motherhood—the lack of support for women striving to break generational cycles and raise children rooted in faith. Mommy Friend provides encouragement, biblical truth, and community for women pursuing God’s design for their families.

Having lost her first child, Denize made a vow that although the enemy had taken one, he would not take another under her watch. This conviction led her to volunteer at a local pregnancy support center, where she witnessed the depth of brokenness many women carried. Seeking a greater solution, she expanded Mommy Friend beyond the digital space by opening her home for weekly Bible studies, firmly believing in the life-saving power of the Word of God.

Denize is the author of The Spiritually Equipped Mamma, a devotional designed to equip women with foundational biblical truths to stand firm against the enemy and fight for their families. She is also the author of her first children’s book, Elaina: A Baby in Heaven, written to bring comfort, hope, and truth to families navigating loss.

As Mommy Friend has continued to grow, Denize has expanded the mission into community-centered events dedicated to strengthening families and building meaningful, Christ-centered connections. One of these initiatives is the annual Kids Worship Night, intentionally held on Halloween as a way to reclaim the day and point children and families back to Christ. She remains committed to creating spaces where families can gather, worship, and grow together in faith.

Reflecting on the prophetic word spoken years ago, Denize could not have imagined the life God would continue to unfold. Her message remains steadfast: put God first in everything, trust Him fully, and let Him write your story.

Welcome to Mommy Friend—this is only the beginning.

My First Children’s Book Is Out Now!

With so much love and prayer, my first children's book is finally here.

Elaina: A Baby in Heaven was created as a gentle tool for mothers to walk through conversations of loss - miscarriage, stillbirth, or abortion — with their children, and to find healing together.

It's my hope that this book will be a source of comfort, pointing hearts toward love even in the hardest seasons.
